WMH has recently invested in a CNC turning machine, which will help improve throughput and reduce costs of machined components used in WMH’s food and pharmaceutical machinery.
The XYZ Machine Tools unit, although almost 20 years old, is a huge step forward from the manual machine it replaced. The programmable unit will enable common parts to be pre-programmed for use at a later date. The machine can operate at a higher speed than the manual unit it replaces is more accurate and can be left unmanned freeing up valuable labour to work on other parts. The unit will be particularly useful for large runs of tie bars and spacers that go into making up many of WMH’s core conveyor products.
This investment in this machine is the first major change to be made by WMH since they bought the former GJM Engineering from the retiring own in 2016.
