WMH has recently completed the installation of a system for improving freezer loading capacity and reducing fallen products for a soup and sauce manufacturer.
The client approached WMH to develop a solution for handling unstable pots of sauces and soups to increase the throughput of their freezer loading, by presenting the product in a uniform manner, making full use of the belt. The freezer was fitted with lane dividers to aid downstream processing, so we needed to present the product in a very accurate formation.
WMH supplied a new modular plastic belt transfer conveyor into the freezer. This improved the transfer into the freezer, thereby reducing the chance of the unstable products tipping over. Two of the lines feeding the spiral needed to have their outputs divided into two lane. WMH used a scroll guide system to evenly pitch the products along the infeed conveyors, and to control the discharge point of alternate pots to form two lanes. Running at high speed the scroll system keeps control of the pots and prevents them tipping.
“This is the first time WMH has used this type of arrangement for improving freezer loading. Using the scroll system provides a neat compact solution for handling tricky products” said a spokesman for WMH.
